Best described as "island folk" music, Freitas is a songwriter, historian, and storyteller all in one. He is a Native Hawaiian, folk styled performer who shares his mana'o (stories & thoughts) through his acoustic driven songs. He has released two albums: Local Folk, Local Folk 2, and Dreams of Aboriginal Art, and he was named Hawai‘i's Country Artist of the Year two years in a row. This performance is part of HPR's Atherton Summer Concert Series, which runs through September 7. Atherton shows offer an intimate listening experience, where there's nothing between you and the music.
